Six weeks. That's how long I have until I am on a plane arriving in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. It seems surreal and so far away just a few short weeks ago. I am taking care of business. Immunizations. Check. See the doctor. Check. Life insurance. Check. Missionary insurance. Check. Student loans. Check. Bills. Check. It feels almost surreal to try and control your finances, your life for 1 year even before you leave. Please pray that God keeps preparing my heart for the trip.
If you are interested in reading about Haiti and what it will be like, I would recommend On that Day, Everybody Ate by Margaret Trost. I am reading it right now and really enjoying it.
August 5th is the deadline for fundraising half of my money.
My next meeting with the crew is August 14.
